Institution STRENGTENING
Several measures have been undertaken to strengthen institutional capacity of the Department of Works (DOW) to successfully implement tranche 1.
- Construction of the new PMO Building completed in May 2020.
- Training in financial management and procurement; training engineers, social and environmental safeguard officers under the construction supervision consultants.
- Workshops, trainings and on-the-job capacity building works in social and environmental safeguard areas.
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF PMO BUILDING AT GOROKA (CSTB 3792)
The design and construction of the new PMO Building in Goroka was completed in May 2020. Approval for occupancy was issued to the contractor after inspection by the provincial building board.
The PMO and Senior Management Staff of the DOW Goroka are temporarily occupying the new building as renovation works are being done to the adjacent existing buildings of DOW.
