Environmental Safe Guard:

The contractual obligation for the Contractors under environmental safeguards have been compliant with no major red flag encountered during the construction phase. All close up plans for the quarries, camp sites and other establishments have been submitted. Certain quarries that remain open especially for the case of CW 2 and RIC are constantly being monitored for compliance by the PMO.

Independent assessments on the disaster areas along the Highlands Highway were conducted but managed in a way to avoid contradiction with the relevant authorities. Technical support has been provided to the local provincial authorities and disaster office to mitigate the impacts. However, the prerogative lays with the disaster office to action.
